Education

Educating not only our community, but the world plays an integral part in helping convey the messages and values of the FIRST program. This includes initiatives such as continually promoting science and technology in order to inspire STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) fields among students. In this respect, our team has taken the initiative to further the growth of the FIRST program by not only reaching out and spreading its message but providing the key education to help with initiatives such as:

* MKSD summer science camp: Student members of the team have worked closely with middle school age deaf students for 2 weeks using models to teach them about physics and have fun.

* NJ School Board Convention: We presented our robot and team at the yearly NJSBA convention in Atlantic City where we met and spoke with hundreds of school board members from all over NJ.

* Antheil Elementary School's "Hands on Science Night": Annually, we have attended the school's night dedicated to science, showcasing our robot and giving key information about FIRST to elementary students and parents alike.

* Fisher Middle School "Boardwalk Night": For the last 5 years we have featured our robot at this family event, in order to gain interest in FIRST at the middle school level. This has allowed a more direct impact by inspiring students at a young age.

* Ewing School Board: We attend all board meetings in order to keep a direct line of communication between our team and this important group. By providing them key insight into our robotics program, we have been able to keep STEM education as a priority within the school board.

* Ewing High School Robotics Class: Independent of the team the high school offers a robotics course that is taught by of one our teacher advisors. Students construct a variety of robots, program, and display them as part of the curriculum.
